Yeni Kuti, a singer, dancer, and daughter of the late Nigerian musician and Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, has revealed that she will not leave her husband over infidelity. She made this known during an interview with Chude where she discussed various issues about her family, herself, and her late father.
Yeni had earlier disclosed on the Your View Program aired on TVC Nigeria, that she would only leave her marriage if her husband cheats with another man. Yeni explained that her decision not to leave her husband over cheating is because her father had 27 wives and her mother did not leave the marriage.
She emphasized that she should not be judged for her decision, as everyone has their own unique perspective.
In her own words, “It is my personal belief that I will not abandon my husband if he happens to be unfaithful. However, this is a decision that each individual must make for themselves.
I do not pass judgment on those who choose to leave their spouse in such a situation, nor should they judge me for my choices. My father had a history of marrying multiple women, but my mother decided to stay by his side. I refuse to let one instance of infidelity dictate the fate of my marriage.”
