Superstar Sergio Ramos of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) reportedly declined a spectacular offer from Real Madrid to re-join the team, according to El Nacional. The former Los Blancos skipper wants to continue playing for the French squad.
Ramos left Madrid in 2021 and began his brilliant career in Paris. Due to injuries, he only played for the squad 13 times in his rookie year. Ramos, on the other hand, has emerged this year as a key character for the Parisians.
He has constantly acted as Christophe Galtier's team's defensive anchor. The center back has helped the Parisians retain 11 clean sheets in their 36 outings this season. However, the French club has not yet extended his contract, and it expires in June.
Ramos has apparently been given the opportunity to rejoin Real Madrid, where he made 671 appearances, by club president Florentino Perez. They will also want the illustrious defender to sit on the club's foundation committee and the board of directors.
Ramos wants to keep playing at the highest level even though he is considering someday returning to his former team. Ramos wants to remain at PSG for a longer period of time. It is unknown if Nasser Al-Khelaifi will give him the opportunity to do so.
