Atiku's Special Adviser on media communications, Phrank Shaibu has tackled the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress for assembling over 50 lawyers to defend himself at the court. Shaibu queried Asiwaju for gathering this mammoth number of lawyers after he had claimed to have won the election on a free and fair basis.
He stated that the duty of Atiku's legal team is to prove the illegality in the just-concluded election and to solidify the Nigerian democracy. He pointed out that the obligation goes beyond reclaiming the mandate but to also stop the imposition of a government on the Nigerian people. Shaibu asserted that the time of reckoning is almost at hand for the Electoral commission after how they poorly conducted the last Presidential election.
He said, ''Atiku raised a team of 19 Senior Advocates of Nigeria. Tinubu claimed he won the election yet he gathered 50 lawyers, what is he gathering them for? It is imperative that they work assiduously towards reclaiming the mandate, not necessarily because of Atiku and the PDP, but to strengthen democracy and the electoral process and for generations unborn.''
