Awolowo, was a public figure in Nigeria, he played a very important role in different political processes of what got Nigeria to independence. In terms of political philosophy, he put a premium of true federalism, Nigeria would have been lucky to have him as president.
Awolowo, instituted free education for all pupils in the Western region of Nigeria, he also add free health care children and women. He founded the "Egbe Omo Oduduwa", in 1951.He endorse federalism as the most appropriate form of government ,he was blessed with unusual prodigious mental capacity, he is always remembered for his quote that "The children of the poor you fail to train will never let your children have peace". The events happening in Nigeria today has proved him right. He is really a man who saw tomorrow.
One lesson, today leaders should learn from Awolowo is that integrity is everything. He might be dead but his legacy still lives.
