Zone Senate President to the Southeast for national interest- APC Chieftain

The South-South Chairman, national forum of All Progressive Congress (APC) LGA chairmen, Norbert Sochukwudinma has made a case for the Southeast to produce the Senate President of the 10th national assembly.

Sochukwudinma who spoke in an interview on TVC advised the the incoming administration to zone the Senate presidency to the Southeast for national interest and to give the people of the region a sense of belonging.

He said, "my confidence again is in the kind of president-elect and vice president-elect that we have and in the kind of leadership of All Progressives that we have. These are leaders who are sensitive to the yearnings of the people. We’ve learnt our voice and we will continue to talk about it that what we need to do, what our incoming president and his team needs to do to succeed is to bring about government of inclusiveness, government of unity. It will give us peace, some level of agitations, misgivings in the Southeast will die down.

Politically and otherwise, we have different kinds of interest. There is selfish interest, there is personal interest, there is collective interest, there national interest and there is selfless interest. Whosoever wishes well for Nigeria, whosoever desires that Nigeria will unite and remain united, peaceful and progressive will be more interested in the national interest, what will give us national unity.

And what will give us that national unity in this coming administration is very simple– zoning the Senate presidency to the Southeast. Let those our wonderful brothers and sisters have this feeling, have a sense of belonging."
