Super Eagles of Nigeria star Cyriel Dessers has been shortlisted for the UEFA Europa Conference League player of the week, following his outstanding performance for Feyenoord football club in their hard-fought 2-2 draw against Slavia Prague football club on Thursday night at Sinobo Stadium.
The former Heracles Almelo football club star has been exceptional for the former Netherlands Eredivisie League Champions, since joining them on a season long loan from Belgium Pro League giants KRC Genk football club, and he was able to extend his impressive performance for the club on Thursday night.
The Nigerian international was dropped to the bench by his coach, but he was introduced to the pitch in the first half of the game, after Netherlands national team star Brian Linssen was injured, and he was able to make an instant impact on the pitch.
Cyriel Dessers excellent performance helped Feyenoord football club to secure a draw, and that's why he was shortlisted for the player of the week award alongside the likes of; Gaëtan Laborde of Stade de Rennes FC Nicolò Zaniolo of AS Roma football club and Pajtim Kasami of Basel FC.

The Nigerian international was introduced to the pitch in the 18th minutes, and he made an instant impact, as he scored two beautiful goals to help the away team secure a vital away point in the game.

Cyriel Dessers' two goals against Slavia Prague football club were enough to help Feyenoord FC to secure their spot in the next round of the competition despite the fact that they have a game left.
He helped the team to escape a defeat
Feyenoord football club played most of the game with 10-man after Netherlands midfield maestro Guus Til was red carded in the 36th minutes, and Cyriel Dessers was able to score two goals for the team to make sure they were not defeated.
With Cyriel Dessers' excellent performance for the club against Slavia Prague football club, it means he deserves to win the player of the week award ahead of other nominees.
