EPL: Why Chelsea might continue losing streak in their next game against Bournemouth

Chelsea were fully outplayed by Arsenal in a 3-1 away defeat on Tuesday night. The Blues found themselves 3-0 down to the Gunners after only 34 minutes into the game and, even with Noni Madueke scoring his first goal for the club in the 2nd half, they failed to locate a way back into the match. This stands has Chelsea's sixth successive defeat since Frank Lampard took charge and they head into this weekend only nine points clear of the relegation zone.

The Blues are in for another difficult afternoon when they visit in-form Bournemouth on Saturday. Bournemouth have pulled clear of the Premier League relegation region after a run of 4 wins in their previous five matches. Meanwhile, Chelsea have prevailed in only 4 games in the entire 2023 in all competitions.

Lampard, like his predecessor Graham Potter, looks undecided of his excellent beginning eleven. Chelsea have only been able to score 31 goals in 33 league matches this season.

Erik ten Hag is in the dark over Manchester United’s summer spending strength as the takeover saga rumbles on. The Old Trafford giants announced in November that the board was exploring strategic choices to decorate the club’s growth, with a full sale, one alternative being considered. United are on course for a top-four end and have the chance to add the FA Cup to the Carabao Cup however the financial backing for upgrades is unclear even to the manager
