Atiku Accuses INEC Of Announcing Manipulated Result Of Presidential Election

The PDP's presidential candidate in the Feb 25th election, Atiku Abubakar, has alleged that the national electoral body, independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced a manipulated result of the presidential poll, in the favour of the candidate of the All progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

Atiku came a little distance second in the poll, as Tinubu whom INEC announced as winner polled more votes than him, and Peter Obi of LP who also came a little distance third.

According to PUNCH, Atiku who is currently challenging the process and outcome of the election through legal means, made this allegation on Wednesday, in an official broadcast, where he urged Nigerians not to be hopeless because of how the election process turned out, urging them to not give-in to apathy, ahead of the March 18th elections.

"I assure you that the electoral fraud perpetrated by INEC will be reversed in due course as I champion the cause to reclaim our mandate. Indeed, what INEC did in announcing the manipulated result was a clear breach of not only the 2022 Electoral Act but also its own guidelines which the electoral commission had repeatedly claimed it would uphold the standards we had seen in the Osun and Ekiti elections. The INEC chairman further ignored calls for a review of the process in line with the amended", he said.
