She revealed in a video uploaded to her YouTube page that her parents exhausted all medical options to no avail, prompting them to resort to spiritual means.
Chidinma recounted that her mother entered into a covenant with God, which eventually resulted in the restoration of her sight.
According to her, her mother, who was previously not known to be an advocate of prayer and fasting, suddenly began to fervently seek divine intervention.
Eventually, Chidinma began to see, much to the relief and amazement of her parents.
The singer also recalled that her mother had promised to dedicate her back to God if the Almighty granted her request to restore her daughter's sight.
Chidinma's story is one of hope and faith, showing that sometimes, all we need to do is to believe in something bigger than ourselves.
