Getting admission into a public university nowadays is not a piece of cake. It is therefore important to apply for admission into a university where you can easily be admitted. In order to increase the probability of getting university admission in the South East, you need to apply for admission into a public university that has very low UTME cut off marks.
There is a South East public university that has announced a very low cut off mark of 120 for the 2021/22 academic session on its website. It is Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki. This institution was originally established in 1985 as a campus of the defunct Anambra State University of Science and Technology (ASUTECH). When Enugu State was excised from the old Anambra State in 1991, the Abakaliki campus was inherited by Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT). After Ebonyi was created out of Enugu State in 1996, EBSU became an autonomous university. This institution has several academic programs across eight faculties.
As stated earlier, the least cut off mark advertised by EBSU for the current admission was 120. This applies to all the courses in the faculty of education and five if the six programs in the faculty of Agriculture. It also applies to courses like Marketing, Banking and Finance, Business Management and Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Management Sciences. This score also applies to some departments in the faculties of Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities.
Meanwhile, there are some programs that have higher scores in the institution. For instance, some courses have cut off marks of 130 in the university. These courses include Food Science and Technology, Public Administration, Industrial Mathematics and Political Science. Programs like Physiology, Anatomy, Economics and Accountancy have their cut off marks fixed at 140.
However, these low cut off marks do not apply to Medical Laboratory Science (180), Nursing (200), Law (200) or Medicine and Surgery (230).
For you to have certainty of getting admitted, it is better to apply for courses with the lowest cut off marks in this university.
