Manchester United faced Athletico Madrid in a preseason friendly match in Oslo, Spain. Manchester United's new manager, Erik Ten Hag started most of his best players in today's encounter, as he aims to go unbeaten throughout their preseason. Erik Ten Hag failed to start the match with a few of his best players which cost the English giant in the first half.
1. Erik Ten Hag should have started the encounter with Christian Eriksen instead of Fred in midfield. Christian Eriksen is known to be agile and was brilliant in his first Manchester United's pre season match against Wrexham United. Fred was unable to put pressure on Athletico Madrid's midfield, as he was poor throughout the first half. Manchester United would have scored, if Christian Eriksen started the first half of the match against Athletico Madrid in Oslo.
2. Secondly, he should have started the match with Facundo Pellistri instead of playing Anthony Elanga. Anthony Elanga was poor in Manchester United's attack today and am sure Pellistri would have done better, if he had started the first half.
3. Also, he should have started the match with a more vigilant defender like Lisandro Martinez instead of Victor Lindelof, who wasn't able to defend in today's match, as it affected Manchester United in the first half.
