The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, has rejected Rivers State governor’s request for Federal projects reimbursement, saying, he owed the state nothing.

River State governor, Nyesom Wike on Wednesday in Portharcourt requested a refund of some Federal projects including roads which he reconstructed with the approval of the Federal Government.

While addressing the President-elect, who was in the state to commission some projects, Wike explained that his government had to amend its procurement law to source for funds to complete some flyovers in the state capital which are Federal government projects.

Wike explained that he could not wait to see those projects uncompleted because they are federal projects, hence, he has to complete them.

The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, thanked the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, for his contribution to his victory in the February 25 presidential election.

Tinubu, who described Wike as a man of principle, said Rivers State played a major role in his winning.

Wike, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, refused to support the presidential candidate of his party, Atiku Abubakar, in the election, a situation which ostensibly gave Tinubu victory in Rivers State.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, Tinubu won in Rivers State with 231,591 votes, while Atiku came distant third with 88,468 votes, behind Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi, who got 175,071 votes.

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday, in Abuja, said his regime had delivered change to Nigerians, especially in the area of affordable housing.

Appraising his regime’s performance in office during the inauguration of a housing estate in Zuba, Abuja, on Tuesday, the President claimed that the new housing estate was addressing multidimensional poverty among the citizens.

But the opposition parties described his claims as bogus, insisting that he performed woefully.

Presenting keys to the new homeowners at the Federal Housing Authority, Zuba, Buhari said, I convey my hearty congratulations to the new homeowners in this estate. Our promise of change has been fulfilled for you.
