The Spokesperson for the Nigerian Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has reacted to a viral video where some police officers, from Lagos State Police command were seen harassing and beating up a Nigerian citizen, for allegedly refusing to release his phone for them to search.
While reacting to the unfortunate incident, Mr Adejobi called on the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police command, Mr Benjamin Hundeyin, urging him to fish out those police officers who treated the young man in such a manner.
Speaking further, he stated it clearly that they need to look into the matter, urging the victim to send an SMS to him. He made it known that he also needs some information from the person involved, noting that he is interested in the disgusting scene or drama as the case may be.
Mr Adejobi made this disclosure in a tweet he made on his twitter handle, while reacting to the video which was shared online by a twitter user.
Some police officers have been dismissed due to this particular act, while some have been punished because of the sane action, but it seems that some police officers still find it difficult to perform their duties without harassing Ave intimidating citizens. A thorough investigation should be conducted, do that these officers will be fished out and punished
