Meanwhile, the personal gong is a reward giving to a particular person for their outstanding performance for a particular month.

However, the Portuguese star won the award ahead of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, Allan Saint-Maximin of Newcastle United, Toni Rudiger of Chelsea, Manchester City's Joao Cancelo, and Ismaila Sarr of Watford.

Ronaldo's goal contribution to Manchester United was impressive, scoring a brace on his second debut against Newcastle United before adding another one against West Ham United to make it three goals in the league for September.

However, the 36 years old is not the deserving winner of the award because he didn't perform better than everyone nominated, and most importantly Mohamed Salah.

Understandably, he won the award ahead of defenders like Toni Rudiger and Joao Cancelo as they didn't have many contributions in the final third of the pitch and that is the major basis of determining who goes home with the prize.

However, Mohamed Salah should have won the premier best player for September ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo as he had better stats than the Manchester United star.

Salah scored three goals last month, the same tally of goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo but the Egyptian maestro took it further by laying an assist against Crystal Palace while the Portuguese have no assist recorded for him.
