According to a news published by Punch Newspaper, Godswill Akpabio, the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, has admitted that he had issues with the Ministry of the Niger Delta while serving in that capacity. Godswill Akpabio continued by saying he didn't want his performance as the Niger Delta Minister to be used to judge him. Godswill Akpabio continued by saying that he would rather be judged based on his 36 years as a lawyer and his tenure as governor of Akwa Ibom State.
According to Punch news, Recall that Godswill Akpabio left his position as a minister and went to run in the APC primary, but he ultimately decided to step down for Bola Tinubu. While Godswill Akpabio's claim that the Ministry of the Niger Delta was problematic is unclear, it is possible that Godswill Akpabio struggled there at some point in the past.
