EPL: Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea will aim for a perfect start.

Chelsea will start their 2022/23 Premier League campaign against Everton at Goodison Park on August 6. The Blues' preparations this summer haven't exactly gone to plan. They have only been able to sign Kalidou Koulibaly, Raheem Sterling, and Carney Chukwuemeka under the new ownership group of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

After not so impressive pre-season games, back-to-back victories over Serie A side Udinese lifted the mood around Stamford Bridge, and there is hope among Chelsea fans that they can do what they have often failed to do in recent years at Goodison Park.

Everton took four points from their two games against Chelsea last season, with Rafael Benitez and Lampard both enjoying success against their old employers.

Benitez secured a 1-1 draw away at Chelsea in December 2021 before Lampard sealed an important 1-0 home win against them as the Toffees launched a dramatic push away from relegation.

Thomas Tuchel’s men will be eyeing the three points from this clash to start their new season in a positive manner and set the tempo for the next game against Tottenham.
