How Buhari Is Building A Military That Is Highly Motivated By Providing Them With Facilities

1. Building a Highly Motivated Military.

To give no room for despondency within the rank and file of the military, especially at the elite Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) located in Jaji, Kaduna State, the Buhari administration has commissioned some new Students Officers accommodation at the institution to help solve shortages of accommodation for officers sent there on training.

The new accommodations were commissioned on the 23rd of September 2016, and they include hostels for Company Commanders Course (CCC), Commanding Officers Course (COC), and Young Officers Course (YOC), all at the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State. And these developments are part of the Buhari administration's efforts to bequeath an efficient and highly motivated military establishment to the country.

2. Ensuring Our Naval Personnel Are Protected From COVID-19.

When the Covid-19 pandemic took the world by storm and instilled a sense of panic and confusion everywhere, the Buhari administration proactively developed and commissioned an Isolation Centre for the Nigerian Navy at the Naval Dockyard in Victoria Island, Lagos State.

The Isolation Centre, which was inaugurated on the 31st of May 2020, was set up so that any Naval personnel that showed or felt any of the disease's symptoms would be quickly taken to the facility for isolation, testing, treatment, and observation so that the spread could be curtailed.

This, and many other such centers, including many other proactive measures, put in place across the country by the Buhari administration account for the way Nigeria was able to effectively curtail the spread of the virus within the country, which makes the effort of the administration in fighting the scourge commendable.

3. The Maritime Academy Of Nigeria Is Now A Global Technological Powerhouse.

By installing and commissioning three sophisticated training simulators at the Maritime Academy of Nigeria in Oron, Akwa Ibom State, namely the Full Mission Bridge Simulator, the Full Mission Engine Room Simulator, and the Multi-Functional Classroom Simulator, the Buhari administration simply converted the institution into a World Class training facility for maritime professionals and enthusiasts.

Commissioned on the 13th of February 2021, the new facilities have now made it possible for certain maritime courses that were hitherto done overseas at far higher costs ($2,000 per person)will now be done here in Nigeria at far cheaper prices ($700 per person). And for emphasis, it will be the same courses and same certificates but at very cheap costs in Naira, which then makes this intervention a prudent one.
