Gunmen have shot dead the All Progressives Congress Campaign Coordinator in Ahoada-West Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chisom Lennard.

This is coming some hours after Lennard was abducted by the gunmen who disguised themselves in police uniform.
The incident reportedly took place during the governorship and state House of Assembly elections at Ibagwa polling unit 2 ward 10 in Ahoada West LGA.
According to the source, Lennard tried to prevent the hoodlums from taking away election materials when he was kidnapped.
Rivers State APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, confirmed the incident saying "Nobody knew where they took him to. It was later in the evening of Saturday that his body was discovered."
The source revealed that the corpse was found along the Ibueahi-Ubeta road in Ahoada West LGA of the state
The APC Publicity Secretary also revealed that Lennard was the party's LGA caretaker chairman, an estate surveyor and was a PhD student at the Rivers State University.
