There are so many Nigerians artists who were once choristers in their church,some of the current music artists started singing from the choir. Music is a very important system in our modern day,mostly important in the church.
Below are a few artistes in the music industry who got their start in the choir before making it big in the entertainment industry.
Wande Coal as we know him is one of few artists who started from the choir,oluwatobi wande ojosipe is his full name and I believe it's the first time some of us are getting to know about his real name.
Wande Coal started singing since he was little in the teenage choir at his church,he broke into the entertainment industry as a dancer before he was signed to Don jazzy’s hit records back in 2006.
Banky W was originally born in the united states of America to Nigerian parents,but his family later moved back to Lagos when he was five years old,he also started signing when he was still very young in his church.
Wizkid who's real name is ayodeji ibrahim started signing from his teenage age too at the age of 11 years in his church choir,he also started running errands in a studio where popular musicians like 2face idibia recorded his song titles circa in 2004.
Waje has a golf voice and that of an angel, while she was growing up as a chorister then,she sang gospel melodies for the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa,Idahosa so much loved the talent of Waje and decided to sponsor Waje throughout her secondary school education.
Don jazzy is one of the most popular artist in Nigeria who was once a chorister in his church. Don jazzy was a multi-instrumentalist while growing up,Don Jazzy’s uncle normally invites him to play drum for a local church in London which was his first visit to London.
Darey Art Alade
Darey perfected his music skills at a very early age,he sang with different choir while growing up which includes the national troupe of Nigeria choir.
