Chelsea face a stern challenge on Tuesday when they face Bundesliga giant, Borrusia Dortmund who have an advantage of a 1-0 win in their previous clash. Winning the UEFA Champions league seems like the only way for Chelsea to qualify for the Competition next Season, as they are 10th on the Log and a top four finish is not sure.
What I believe Chelsea must do to overturn the one goal deficit and win the second leg today against Dortmund is to score goals, which can be made possible with introduction of a natural number 9 striker. Their last match in the Premier League, which is a slim win over Leeds United, the only goal in the game was scored by a defender, which was also their first goal since February 11th and only their second goals in 2023.
One of the causes of their struggles in scoring goals was their Manager decision in playing Kai Havertz who is a midfielder as their Point man. Where as a proven goal scorer like Fofana and Aubameyang, were not registered for the Knockout phase of the Champions League, while Mykalo Mudryk was put on the Bench.
Mykalo Mudryk recorded 14 goals and 12 assists for Shakhtar Donetsk, three of those goals scored in the group stage of this year UEFA Champions League. Using Player like Mudryk as the number might solve Chelsea Goals Scoring Crisis and will play better as a striker than Kai Havertz.
Also, Mudryk is a faster and technically good player than the preferred Kai Havertz.
