It is no Longer news that the Nigerian World Boxing Champion has finally been defeated. His defeat was indeed a thing of shock to many, and most of his fans were so disappointed in the outcome of the fight. Many felt that Anthony Joshua was too slow in the fight and that was one major reason that led to his defeat.

Recall: The fight between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk took place on Saturday, and Joshua lost the fight.
At the end of the fight, Joshua was barely standing, and his eye socket was swollen.
Despite being defeated, I think Anthony Joshua should still be honored by Nigerians because of his following reasons.

His love for Nigeria: We all know that despite being a citizen of Britain, Anthony Joshua still has great love for Nigeria, and he is still proud to be called a Nigerian. We can still remember that he even went as far as honoring the president of Nigeria with his awards and also prostrated before the president. Despite being defeated, I think Nigerians should show him love by honoring him greatly. Not all athletes, will remember their country after making it. Despite being recognized as a citizen of Britain, he still loves Nigeria. Below are some pictures showing Anthony Joshua and the President of Nigeria:

His record will not be forgotten: There is an adage that says, no one remains a champion forever. Anthony Joshua has been beaten, but that does not mean he is not a champion. Despite his defeat, the various records he has broken is still in history and will never be forgotten. This is one reason why he should be honored by his people (Nigeria).
