I Didn't Use The 4 AK- 47 Guns Caught With Me, I Only Kept Them After I Repented”– Suspect Reveals

A 33- year- old man who resides at Mayo Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Musa Adamu, has been arrested for illegal possession of guns. When paraded, the suspect claimed that he got the weapons from his repentant armed robbery colleagues, explaining that he had been involved in kidnapping in the past, but had repented from it. He insisted that the four deadly AK- 47 guns he was caught with were given to him to keep.

He informed the police that the former gang members surrendered the guns to him after they learnt that he had repented from kidnapping.

He claimed that he did not have the motive of using the guns for any criminal activities as he had given up such activities.

" I was a kidnapper and I once worked with other people and abducted two residents in Taraba, one in Numan and one in Mayo Belwa LGA of, Adamawa respectively, but I have long repented, " he said.

The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed his arrest said Adamu and all other suspects in the case and other cases would be investigated and prosecuted.

Recall that operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ondo State Command, also arrested one Destiny Agbaijoh with an AK- 47 rifle, a pump action gun and ammunition.

The NDLEA operatives on a stop and search operation arrested the 25- year- old suspect after finding the weapons he concealed in a bag.

The suspect who boarded a commercial vehicle, was caught with one AK- 47, one pump action, 91 bullets of 5. 56 mm, 16 cartridges and N347, 000 cash concealed in a bag.

The suspect tried his best to bribe the operatives with the cash found on him but they rejected. " We have done our preliminary investigation and we are going to hand him over to the Police. "

Speaking with journalists, the suspect, Destiny Agbaijoh disclosed that he got the bag containing the ammunition inside the bush in an unnamed village in Bayelsa State.
