The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Enitan, has reacted to the comment made against him by Chief Sunday Igboho on Wednesday morning. The monarch said Sunday Igboho's comment is irresponsible.

According to a statement released by the spokesperson to Ooni of Ife, Moses Olafare, he said the king was not ready to engage Sunday Igboho on the matter, but since it is a threat of violence against the monarch, it will be treated appropriately.

In a video circulating on social media, Sunday Igboho called Ooni of Ife and other Yoruba leaders Fulani slaves, he also threatened to ambush and kill Ooni of Ife and others who do not give their support to the movement to liberate the Yoruba land from killer herdsmen.

In reaction to the comment, Ooni of Ife said no responsible and true son or daughter of Yoruba will speak to Ooni of Ife in such manner. The monarch said his comment cast doubt of his true intention in his movement to liberate the Yoruba land.

The statement also said Sunday Igboho is overdoing things and he shouldn't think he is bigger than the authority. You can't be defending the Yoruba and abusing the spiritual leader of the race at the same time.

The statement also said the allegation leveled against Ooni of Ife by Sunday Igboho is baseless and irresponsible. He claimed that the monarch received dollars from President Muhammad Buhari when he visited the Aso Rock but he couldn't provide evidence to back his claim.

Ooni of Ife said Igboho shouldn't let the praise people are giving him for fighting the Fulani herdsmen get into his head, his statement is irresponsible and doesn't fit the description of an Omoluabi.

The monarch concluded that he will never jeopardize the interest of the Yoruba people, he is also working with relevant authorities to restore peace to Yoruba land.

The statement has led to different reactions on social media. See what Nigerians are saying about it.

Is it right for Sunday Igboho to called Ooni of Ife a Fulani slave? Should he be arrested for threatening to kill the monarch?
