Police arraign couple for alleged N71.3m fraud

The Police on Thursday arraigned a couple, Martin Ogiator and Wuraola Ogiator, before a Wuse Zone 2 Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly defrauding one Mrs Uchenna Ademiluyi of N71, 358, 150 million.

The defendants were arraigned on a four-count charge of conspiracy, breach of trust, cheating and misappropriation.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The police prosecutor, Mr Umoh Inah, told the court that Ademiluyi, a resident of 36 Drive, Prince and Princess Estate, Kaura, Abuja, reported the case at a police station.

Veteran pop singer, Chris Mba, has died after a long battle with heart issues.

The musician, who was famous in the 1980s for his jerry curl and hits like ‘Funky Situation’, ‘Baby Don’t Cry’, ‘Making My Way’ and ‘Love Everlasting’, died on Wednesday at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.

Michael Odiong, the General Manager of Premier Music which Chris was signed to, shared the news on Thursday in a post shared via his Instagram account.

The Rivers State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Tonye Cole, has explained the reasons he failed to visit the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, during his visit to the state to inaugurate projects.

Cole cited negligence and Governor Nyesom Wike’s nonchalance among others as reasons why he was absent from the inauguration.

The PUNCH reported that Tinubu, on Wednesday visited the state on the invitation of Wike to inaugurate the Rumuokwuta/Rumuola flyover in Port Harcourt, where he described Wike as a man of integrity who abandoned his interest for the nation’s interest.

The APC governorship candidate stated this while speaking in an interview with Arise Television on Thursday, adding that Wike should have informed the state chapter of APC if he really wanted them to be part of the programme.

Others include Osagie Igbe Uwa, Fidelis Goodluck, Emmanuel Jeremiah, Omokoro Omonefe, Emakpor Efetobore, Atunu Ewomaghea, Kingsley Onwudegiru, Esegbue Stephen, Ewomazino Odidi, Ishaka Samson, Chukwuyem Marven, Jephthah Eromosele, Ese Ozumu, Adelike Ifakachukwu, Osadolor Louis, Oghenemharho Prosper, Onoyeyan Daniel, Clement Ogiaide and Peter Ekepoburu.
