To ensure victory, manager Graham Potter will need to carefully consider the best lineup to take on the Spurs. Here are some of the different options Chelsea could consider when forming their lineup against Tottenham Hotspur.
Option 1: A 3-4-2-1 Formation
Chelsea could deploy a 3-4-2-1 formation, which would see Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal and a back three of Reece James, Thiago Silva, and Marc Cucurella. In midfield, Mason Mount and Enzo Fernandez can sit deep in the double pivot, while Raheem Sterling and Joao Felix play in front of them as attacking midfielders. Up top, Kai Havertz can lead the line in attack.
Option 2: A 4-2-3-1 Formation
This formation would see Kepa in goal and a back four of Reece James, Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, and Benjamin Chilwell. In midfield, "the double pivot" of Mateo Kovacic and Enzo Fernandez can sit deep, while Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, and Mykhaylo Mudryk can provide support to the attack. Up top, Joao Felix can lead the line.
Option 3: A 4-3-3 Formation
This formation could be ideal for the match against Tottenham Hotspur. Kepa would once again line up in goal, and the back four would consist of Reece James, Thiago Silva, Wesley Fofana, and Ben Chilwell. The midfield could be made up of Mateo Kovacic, Enzo Fernandez, and Mason Mount, while the attack would feature Mykhaylo Mudryk, Joao Felix, and Kai Havertz.
No matter which formation Chelsea decides to use, they will need to be at their best to ensure victory against Tottenham Hotspur. With the right tactics and team selection, Chelsea can secure a much-needed win and keep their place in the top four.
