2023:Adams Oshiomhole Releases Statement 24 Hours To The Presidential Election

The former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, released a message via his verified Facebook profile just twenty-four (24) hours before the much anticipated presidential election scheduled for Saturday, May 25, 2023.

"My fellow Nigerians, my name is Adams Oshiomhole and now that we have come to the end of our campaigns, I think it is important I speak to you on what I believe are the critical issues in the country and ways the APC Presidential candidate intends to deal with all of those issues that affect your life," the former national chairman of the All Progressive Congress party (APC), who is also running for a Senate seat in the National Assembly, said in a video shared by him.

I believe we can boil this down to three or four main points. The first is to defend and uphold the Federal Republic of Nigeria's unity. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who established the framework for this unity as governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, is, in my opinion, the only one of the candidates on display who has experience leading a state with residents from all 774 local government areas in Nigeria. He has persisted in urging his successor to carry out these broad policies based on a well-thought-out long-term plan of action for Lagos, and as a result, Lagos's GDP is now far higher than that of several African states.

Second, the only state where you haven't heard of someone dying themselves because of racial or religious prejudice is Lagos. Lagos, one of the most populated States in Nigeria, provides a home for everyone of us. This diversity has been woven into a productive machine that continues to produce prosperity, which is why even those who despise the name Tinubu and are not particularly pleased with the idea that Lagos is being referred to as the center of excellence found themselves relocating and setting up shop there. Nigeria needs a leader who would create a nation where we can all be proud to hold the country's green passport. A society where "what you know will define what you become, not who you know"
