The Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun eulogized professor Wole Soyinka on his 88th birthday, describing him as one of the rarest breeds that have straddled the planet earth.

The Ogun governor celebrates the Noble prize winner on his 88th birthday describing him as one of the rarest breeds of human beings to have straddled the planet in exceptional candour and style.
Describing Wole Soyinka, the governor said the Noble Laureate prize winner is an Icon and a rare gem whose works have gone beyond Ogun State, Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
He further described him as a flag bearer of the banner of excellence which has stratified Ogun State as one of the revered states in Nigeria.
In a tribute written by the governor, he wrote, "Ogun is proud to have a son who studied a language and invented words for the language, which the owners of the language have never heard of and now which has become a regular lexicon of the or if you like, their language."
The governor promises to make Ogun a state that is conducive to learning and studying an egalitarian free and fair society that provides for individual growth and prosperity; and human development in general, which professor Soyinka preaches.
