The Igbos are our brothers, and before this time they were commissioners in Lagos state—Ajiboye

According to Biodun Ajiboye, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, the future of Lagos State cannot be entrusted to a person without experience. He claimed that in Lagos, the idea of "not being young to rule" might not apply because transformation in the state requires experience. He contends that the traffic problems Lagos is currently experiencing are modest and shouldn't be used to discredit the APC's track record of achievement.

Speaking about the candidates running for office, the APC Chieftain claimed that only Sanwo-Olu stands out based on his performance over the past several years. Yet, he made it clear that he somewhat agreed with the belief that only a qualified candidate could lead Lagos. According to him, Lagos is Nigeria's largest state in terms of its economy. He argued that only a capable individual could take over Lagos' affairs.

He said, ''There are times that we speak frontal to situation with a view to attempting to solve problems. I'm not against an Igbo being governor in Lagos state, I'm against an unskilled Igbo candidate. The Igbos are our brothers and before this time they have been commissioners in Lagos state."
