Leicester City were active in the Premier League today as they welcomed Burnley to the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Many expected Leicester City to win the match as they were facing a side who haven't recorded a win in the Premier League this season. Expectations didn't go as planned because Leicester City were unable to defeat a struggling side in Burnley despite playing at their home ground. The foxes struggled against Burnley in today's match as both sides played an intense 2-2 draw at full-time.
Jamie Vardy scored two times in the match as he redeemed himself after scoring an unfortunate own goal against his side. Burnley nearly won the game in the last minute of the match but unfortunately for them, Chris Wood's late goal was ruled out for an offside call.
Leicester City have been underperforming this season since Kelechi Iheanancho stopped being a regular starter for Brendon Rodgers. The Nigerian International hasn't started in any Premier League game for Leicester City this season as he keeps coming in as a substitute. The 27-year-old was arguably Leicester City's best player last season but this season he turned into a bench warmer at the club receiving little or no playing time.
In today's match, he came in as a substitute in the 62nd minute and still provided an assist to Jamie Vardy's second goal against Burnley. Benching Kelechi Iheanancho will really affect Leicester City's performance this season as they have struggled to win games without him. Brendon Rodgers needs to start playing him regularly this season.
