Anointing is said to be a new outpouring of God's Holy Spirit on the lives of believers specifically to help them experience more power, more joy, and more holiness. Psalm 20:6 "Now know I that the lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Anyone who is a believer in Christ is chosen by God and set apart. 2 Corinthians 1:21 says, "Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee."
