Tinubu congratulated Wike for contributing to his elections (selection) victory - Daniel Bwala

Politics in Nigeria is known for its cut-throat nature, where alliances are made and broken, and promises are often not kept. In a recent tweet by D.H Bwala, he alluded to the fact that the just-concluded gubernatorial election in Lagos State, Nigeria, was not without its fair share of controversy.

According to the tweet, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had congratulated the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, for contributing to his victory in the election. However, Wike had allegedly credited votes to Tinubu that were stolen from the Labour Party's Peter Obi.

Bwala then posed the question, "Can a soup made of a stolen chicken-curry make a delicious cocktail?" This statement is a metaphor for the fact that no matter how much Tinubu and his supporters try to spin the election results in their favor, the fact remains that the victory was tainted by the alleged theft of votes.

In the case of the Lagos State gubernatorial election, the allegations of vote theft are particularly damning. If the claims made by Bwala are true, it means that Tinubu's victory was not a true reflection of the will of the people. It also raises questions about the legitimacy of his mandate and whether he truly has the mandate to govern the state.

The question of whether a soup made of a stolen chicken-curry can make a delicious cocktail is a rhetorical one. It is meant to highlight the fact that no matter how much one tries to dress up something that is fundamentally wrong, it remains wrong. In the same way, no matter how much Tinubu and his supporters try to spin the election results in their favor, the fact remains that the victory was tainted by the alleged theft of votes.
