According to Punch News, Aliko Dangote, the chief executive officer of the Dangote Group, has claimed that his refinery will create adequate employment possibilities for young people in Nigeria.
This was revealed by Dangote on Monday during a speech at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals' commissioning.
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), ordered the project.
A wide range of enterprises in the pharmaceuticals, food, beverage, construction, and many other industries would have access to crucial raw materials thanks to the refinery, he said.
He emphasized the advantages of the refinery by saying, "The refinery operation will generate massive job opportunities in the hundreds of thousands."
The refinery, which is situated in the Dangote Industries Free Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, is designed to process crude oil grades from the continents of Africa, Asia, and America. It provides Nigeria with a daily excess of almost 38 million liters of gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel.
The refinery, which is designed to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day, converts crude oil into a variety of petroleum products, including kerosene, jet fuel, diesel, and gasoline.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reportedly praised Dangote for the initiative earlier, according to The Punch.
