Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) candidate for president in the 2023 election, canceled his visit to Abia State today in advance of the state's March 11 governorship election.

Remember that Obi was originally scheduled to visit the state to support LP candidate Chief Alex Otti for governor?
In a statement on Tuesday, Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti's special adviser on media and publicity, stated that Obi's visit to the state had been postponed.
According to Ekeoma, the change was necessary since Obi has certain urgent obligations today in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
But, he pointed out that Obi had promised that the visit had to happen before the state's governorship election.
We sincerely apologize for any hardships the postponement may have caused Ndi Abia, and we aim to inform them of a new date.
