INEC Does Not Rig Election, Rather, We Have Ensured The Integrity Of Our Electoral Process -Oyekanmi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has responded to accusations and criticisms from various individuals and political parties regarding the electoral process and the chairman of the commission.

The chief press secretary to the INEC chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, has emphasized that the commission does not engage in election rigging, as some have falsely claimed. He also stated that the commission has worked to strengthen the integrity of the electoral process.

One of the innovations introduced by INEC is the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which ensures that only properly registered voters are allowed to cast their votes on the day of the election. Oyekanmi warned those who make false accusations against the commission and its chairman to present their evidence in court.

It is not only the masses who have made claims about malfeasance in the electoral process; opposition party candidates have also voiced their concerns. However, INEC maintains that it is committed to ensuring free, fair, and credible elections, and that it continues to work towards improving the electoral process.
