An investigative medium, PREMIUM TIMES, has called for the arrest and prosecution of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele over the lingering naira crisis.
In an editorial titled: ‘CBN, the rule of law and Nigerian democracy,’ the online medium faulted the apex bank for failing to adhere to the ruling of the Supreme Court on the old naira notes.
It noted that the cash withdrawal limit imposed by the central bank is an infringement on the rights of the people
The editorial also questioned why the Federal Government and the CBN were yet to make official move to enforce the order of the supreme court.
8 Persons Die In Boat Mishap

No fewer than eight people have died after a panga boat capsized near the shore of Black’s Beach in San Diego County, California, in the United States.
The boat mishap was discovered on Saturday around 11:30 pm after someone on another panga boat called 911, authorities said.
The CNN reported that the caller was on a type of small fishing boat powered by an outboard motor, and called authorities after seeing victims in the water, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The first rescuers could not access the beach because of the high tide, and had to wade through “knee to waist deep water,” the statement disclosed.
APGA Kicks As Gunmen Kill Ward Councillor Ogbonnaya Ugwu

Police in Ebonyi on Sunday in Abakaliki confirmed Saturday’s killing of a councillor, Mr. Ogbonnaya Ugwu.
The spokesman of the police, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, said an investigation had started to track the killers so as to bring them to book.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi also issued a statement over the murder.
APGA’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Otu, stated on Sunday in Abakaliki that incessant killings in the state were condemnable. He urged security agencies to act fast.

The Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu State, Barr. Chijioke Edeoga has raised the alarm of alleged plans by the Peoples Democratic Party in Enugu State, to use armed thugs to frustrate efforts at free and fair Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the State.
He called on the Federal Government to conduct an urgent audit of the guns approved for vigilante security services in the state to avert what he describes as “a war” on the people of the State.
Edeoga in a press statement that he personally signed, accused the State Government and the PDP of distributing to hired party thugs, the arms, which were approved for procurement by the Federal Government for use to augment the efforts of the conventional security services in the state, also accused the PDP of attempts to steal the Saturday, March 18, 2023 elections by violent means.
