Real Madrid vs Villarreal: Chukwueze & 6 Other Players Set To Miss The Match with injuries

The Spanish La Liga returns this weekend with a whole set of exciting fixtures to watch out for. One of them is the heavyweight clash between table toppers Real Madrid and last season's UEFA Europa League champions - Villarreal.

Exciting Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze is still out with an injury which he sustained last season. The 22 year picked up a nasty him injury while playing against Arsenal in the semi final of the Europa League last term and is still in recovery mode following a successful surgery.

The Umuahia-born forward will be the only missing player for Villarreal in their visit to the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend, meanwhile, the home side have a total of six first team players who are out of this encounter.

Welsh superstar Gareth Bale will be unavailable for the match with a niggling thigh injury, while Dani Carvajal will also miss out with a calf injury.

Carlo Ancelotti will also be missing the services of Toni Kroos who is nursing a groin injury, while Dani Ceballos is out with an ankle problem. Veteran Brazilian left back, Marcelo is sidelined with a muscle injury, while fellow full back Ferland Mendy is also out with a muscle injury.

The match between Real Madrid and Villarreal takes place on Saturday evening (8pm local time kick off) at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu stadium. Los Blancos will be considered as favorites to claim all three points in this one, with the red hot duo of Karim Benzema and Vinicius Júnior leading the attack for them.

Anyways, they will have to be weary of a Villarreal side that is yet to taste defeat this term, with dangerous players like Gerard Moreno and in-form Super Eagles prospect, Arnaut Danjuma spearheading the attack for the “Yellow Submarine”.

Real Madrid currently sit at the top of the La Liga standings with 16 points, with defending champions Atletico Madrid right behind them on 14 points. Real Sociedad and Sevilla occupy 3rd and 4th positions respectively, while FC Barcelona are currently in 7th place following their terrible start to the season under Ronald Koeman.
