Alonso speaks after he was booed against Tottenham Hotspurs

Chelsea defender, Marcos Alonso has taken out time to respond to Tottenham fans after they booed him for the whole of 90 minutes during Sunday's London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs. Spurs fans have loathed the sight of Alonso after his brace gave Chelsea a 2-1 victory over them under Antonio Conte and some other strong performances against them.

Since then, they have cultivated the habit of booing him whenever he plays against them, and Sunday's 3-0 win over their club was not an exception. Alonso has now replied them by saying their boo sounds like music to his ears, and he actually loves it.

He says, “I love it! To be booed when you play away, it’s music to my ears. It might be because I have scored a few goals against them and I think they maybe have these memories in their head when I touch the ball, so yeah, I love it.”

It's actually a worthy response, but it may make Chelsea's next match against Tottenham more dangerous for Alonso. Maybe it could get to a point where they begin to pelt him with objects whenever he plays against them.

The boo on Sunday actually worked magic for Alonso. Maybe it turned out to him as a motivation because he had one of his best performances this season. He had more touches in Tottenham's box than Harry Kane had in Chelsea's box. That was just how dominant hew was.

Alonso's exclusion from Spain's national team squad to the European Championships obviously worked in his favor because it allowed him the needed rest, a proper pre-season and a good start to the season. He has started every Chelsea match this season, which means he's now ahead of Ben Chilwell in the pecking order.

The Spaniard is expected to be rested for Chelsea's EFL Cup clash against Aston Villa on Wednesday, so he would be fresh for the big one coming up against Manchester City next weekend. He scored the winning goal against the Cityzens as Chelsea won by two goals to one in their last league meeting. We just hope he stays injury-free ahead of the match.
