7 Stars That Made Waves In Nollywood In The Past But Have Now Faded Out

Over the years, the Nigerian movie industry has produced several stars that contributed to the success of Nollywood today. In the 1990s and early 2000s, these stars were the toasts of film producers, and they won the hearts of film lovers with their acting prowess. But over time, some of them are no longer making waves in the industry. Some faded out because of too much competition in the industry, or because they decided to try their hands on other things. So in this article, we are going to look at 7 Nollywood stars who were hot in Nollywood in the past, but have now faded out.

1. Grace Amah.

Her Nollywood career started when she was a teenager, and she later grew to become a household name in the industry. The talented actress had starred in films with many Nollywood icons, and also won a handful of awards. But with time, her face became scarce in films. Grace Amah still appears in movies, but she is no longer in the limelight like she was in the early 2000s.

2. Ejike Asiegbu.

The actor and former President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) was a strong force to be reckoned with in the industry several years ago.

He was so impressive in front of the camera, and seeing him in a movie was enough to make some people to like the movie. But over the years, Ejike Asiegbu has faded out in the industry, and we hardly see him in movies these days.

3. Saint Obi.

Saint Obi was one of the most loved actors in Nollywood, and could fit into any role. Some people saw him as the James Bond of Nollywood, and because of his talent, many believed he would be in the spotlight for a very long time. But years ago, Saint Obi stopped appearing in movies, and that made many to wonder how such a talented actor could suddenly disappear from the limelight like that.

4. Shan George.

Shan George is an actress, singer, producer and director. Years ago, he was one of the hottest divas the Nigerian film industry could boast of, but today her presence in Nollywood is not being felt like it was in the early 2000s.

5. Hanks Anuku.

Hanks Anuku used to be the go-to guy whenever producers needed someone to portray the role of a bad boy in films, and he did achieve success for himself in the industry because of that. But sadly, Hanks has faded out from our screen, and the scene has been taken over by the new generation of actors.

6. Lilian Bach.

Lilian shot to limelight in the 1990s as a model, before she ventured into acting. She soon became a household name in the industry, and won herself many fans. Lilian was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful actresses we had in Nollywood, but her face is no longer prominent on our screen these days.

7. Susan Patrick.

The gap-toothed actress used to be a delight to watch back then, and was able to carve a niche for herself with her acting skills, but years ago, she disappeared from the spotlight. It is reported that her marriage was the reason she took a break from Nollywood, and her fans had been asking - where is Susan Patrick?
