Current EPL table after Liverpool and Manchester city drew 2-2 today

Manchester city traveled to the Anfield staduim to face Liverpool in a crunch premier league game on Sunday evening.

Both sides entered the game on good form with City looking to halt Liverpool's unbeaten run in the Premier league this season.

The game began with Liverpool dominating the ball although the reds were largely unable to create much chances with the ball as City defended well. The away side soon took charge of the game and started creating chances of theor own as they looked to break the deadlock in the game.

Phil Foden and Kevin De bruyne were presented with clear cut chances but were both wasteful in front of goal as the first half of the game finished in a goalless manner.

Liverpool resumed the second half with more intent as they piled pressure on City's defence with Portuguese attacker Diogo Jota drawing a fine save from Ederson Moraes.

Liverpool continued to knock on city's defence and their persistence finally paid off when Sadio Mane finished off a fine move after a fine run from Mohammed Salah on the right.

That goal seem to be the wake up call Manchester city needed and they got an equalizer after Phil Foden finished from Gabriel Jesus pass.

It didn't take long for Liverpool to retake their lead after Mohammed Salah weaved his way past city's defence before sending a sublime right footed finish past Ederson Moraes.

Manchester city drew level few minutes later when Kevin De bruyne's right footed shot was deflected in by Joe Matip in the 81st minute.

The game would end in that manner as neither side were unable to add to their tally on the evening.

Earlier in the day Tottenham had defeated Aston Villa 2-1 thanks to goals from Pierre Hojbjerg and Lucas Moura as Nuno Espirito's men halted their three game losing run in the league.

Chelsea head into the international break top of the EPL table with Liverpool sitting just behind the blues following their 2-2 draw with Manchester City who are third on the log. Manchester united drop to 4th position on the table while Everton occupy fifth spot.
