2 things you should know about Nigerian Evangelist, Dr. Umah Ukpai

Nigeria is a country with great mineral and human resources. The country has produced notable personalities in different sectors. In religion sector, Nigeria have the likes of Pastor William Kumuyi of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian. Church of God, Dr. Umah Ukpai and host of other Christian leaders in Nigeria.

Though, not much is known about Dr. Umah Ukpai hence, I will highlight two things that should be known about this great and humble man. Dr. Umah Ukpai is one of the great men of God who have gone to different parts of the country and outside the country for Christian evangelism.

In this post, we will highlight two things that should be known about this great man whose ministerial impacts have been felt in different parts of the country and the world in general.

Born in 1945, Dr. Umah Ukpai lost his father to death at the age of 10.

Now, let's look at two things we should know about him:

1. He is the President of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association:

According to Wikipedia, Dr. Umah Ukpai was converted into Christianity in 1958. He has gone on to be one of the great men of God that Nigeria ever produced. His dedication to God and service to humanity distinguishes him and a human Christian leader.

One thing we should know about Dr. Umah Ukpai is that, he is the founder and President of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA), a non denominational gospel ministry based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

According to Vanguard report, Dr. Umah Ukpai was one of the founding fathers of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), umbrella body of Pentecostalism in Nigeria.

2. He lost 2 of his children in a car accident on the same day:

The second thing we should know is that Dr. Umah Ukpai is married to Philomena Umah Ukpai, who is also a Pastor. Their marriage produced 8 children and an adopted child. According to his interview with the Vanguard Newspaper, Umah Ukpai said he lost 2 of his children in a car accident on the same day.

In his words, "On our way to a crusade in my village, my driver carrying my children and a cousin, drove into a river." He narrated how he tried to rescue them but didn't succeed in his attempt.
