Anthony Martial is surely the second most hated Manchester United player (after Fred), when we talk about the fans perspective. But it should be clear by now that the Manchester United management don't have any intention to sell the Frenchman. These are some of the reasons why they might take that decision.
Firstly, players of Martial's quality are normally the head strikers for their teams. This makes him the perfect backup striker for Manchester United as Cavani would be leaving very soon. Despite his performances, he is still quite dependable whenever he comes on as a substitute.
Secondly, it seems that Solskjaer has a soft spot for the striker and is ready to put his trust in him, even though it is clear that he would be sacked if he continues to trust Martial that much. Solskjaer still plans to use Martial for some less important matches, which means that he is probably is in his plans for the future.
Thirdly, Martial is still a top footballer and would be a major asset for Manchester United if he ever manages to get back to his top form. He has has 78 goals and 58 assists for Manchester United in just 200+ appearances for the club, most of these goals were important ones.
