Heartburn also referred to as acid indigestion, reflux or gastroesophageal reflux can be described as a feeling of burning sensation around the chest and throat. It is experienced by many individuals and occurs when the stomach acid flows backward into the food pipe or esophagus. However, some foods can cause or trigger heartburn. 1 Fried or fatty foods: these foods take longer time to digest and Increases the pressure on the esophageal sphincter eg: potato chips, donut, fried bacon, burgers, fried chicken, sausage etc.
