Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, allegedly defeated Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress, in the 2023 presidential election and received more votes than Atiku Abubakar, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This is according to Daniel Bwala, a spokesperson for the PDP's Presidential Campaign Council. The notion that Atiku Abubakar's performance in the presidential election was impacted by Wike's absence from the race, according to Daniel Bwala, has been disproven by the outcomes, he said in an interview on News Central TV's Breakfast Central program.
He also claimed that if INEC released the preliminary results, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who Nyesom Wike backed during the presidential election, would have been soundly defeated by Peter Obi of the Labour Party. He also claimed that the results announced by INEC were a rigged version of what transpired in Rivers because Nyesom Wike, who attempted to rig the election in favor of Tinubu, was unable to deliver many votes because the Rivers churches backed Peter Obi.
He said, "Peter Obi defeated Tinubu, had more votes than Atiku because churches supported him in Rivers. The results presented by INEC were the rigged version of what came out of Rivers. Despite working for Tinubu, how many votes was he able to deliver? Even if I take what was declared by INEC, the votes he delivered for the APC were insignificant. So, even if Wike and his allies were with us, they wouldn't have delivered anything meaningful to us. They were just making noise in the media".
