On Thursday, hoodlums attacked some Labor Party (LP) supporters in Lagos' Surulere neighborhood, inflicting injuries on a few party members.
LP supporters were attacked in front of the Bode Thomas Police Station, where they had fled for safety, according to Titi Oworu, an eyewitness who also happens to be the mother of Olumide Oworu, an LP House of Assembly candidate in Surulere.
Samuel, one of the victims, bemoaned the hasty manner in which he was released from the Randle Hospital, where he had been transported for treatment.
They demanded that the incident be investigated and that those responsible be prosecuted.
Recall that today the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, told the supporters of the party in his official Twitter handle that they should be calm in the face of aggression and that they should come out and vote. The gubernatorial election for Lagos State is this Saturday.
