With less than 48 hours until the 2023 presidential election, a leader of the Labour Party named Wale Okunniyi made a bold claim that the party's presidential candidate, Peter Gregory Obi, will win by Saturday at noon. He based this claim on what he called the Labour Party's "hard work."
Although the polls close at 2:30PM, the head of grassroots mobilization for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) claims Peter Gregory Obi would have won the election long before that time. He made these remarks in an interview with Channels Television's The 2023 Verdict.
Mr. Wale Okunniyi, speaking on why Obi will win before 12PM on Saturday, said, "My optimism tells me that Peter Obi will win easily on the first ballot. My analyses confirm my optimism and the level of effort put in by some of us. We'll be surprised if by 12PM it's clear that we've won.
"You will know we have won by 12PM It's not official, but you'll know when there's a trend. By 2:30 PM, when voting ends, it is just time to collate. If you are in a polling unit, for example, and you notice a trend and have canvassers, information will have reached you."
