The Argentina forward was highly impressive in performance during the tournament. His teammate Emi Martinez was named Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper 2022 while his manager Scaloni was named Best FIFA Men's Coach 2022.
PSG forward Kylian Mbappe had 44 points in the Best FIFA Men's Player voting while Karim Benzema had 34 points. Messi picked Mbappe as his second choice for the award while Karim Benzema was his third choice.
Messi picked his teammate Neymar as his first choice for the Best FIFA Men's Player Award 2022. Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric had 28 points in the Best FIFA Men's Player voting while Erling Haaland had 24 points.
Senegalese forward Sadio Mane had 19 points, Julian Alvarez had 17 points, Achraf Hakimi had 15 points, Neymar had 13 points while Kevin De Bruyne and Vinicius Junior had 10 points each in the Best FIFA Men's Player voting.
