Tinubu Should Swear With God Of Iron—TRW

Adherents of traditional religion (TRW), have called on the Nigerian government to adopt Ogun, the god of iron, to swear in all elective and appointed office holders instead of the tradition of using the Bible and the Qur’an.

According to them, this will curb the misappropriation of public funds as it is believed that the god of iron’s wrath comes swiftly.

This comes as Nigeria prepares for May 29 inauguration day when the ‘President-elect’, Bola Tinubu, ‘Vice President-elect’, Kashim Shettima, governors-elect and others will be sworn into office.

Nigeria Rule Of Law Damaged—Ayodele 

Following the continued trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has blasted the Federal Government and the judiciary sector for corrupting the democratic system and damaging the rule of law.

Primate Ayodele said Nigeria’s democracy was under threat, and it has become a selection when it comes to elections.

He mentioned that the country is practising a democracy of bondage due to the leaders ruling the nation.

The Supreme Court, has affirmed the eligibility of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to contest the presidential election that held on February 25.

The apex court, in a unanimous decision by a five-member panel, on Friday, held that an appeal the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, filed to challenge the legality of Tinubu’s candidacy, lacked merit.

PDP had in the appeal marked: SC/CV/501/2023, sought Tinubu’s disqualification on the premise that the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, allowed himself to be nominated for more than one constituency, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Osinbajo Takes Shettima On Aso Rock Tour

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has taken Vice-President-Elect, Kashim Shettima on a familiarisation tour of his wing of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Shettima said he came on the instance of Osinbajo to exchange ideas on how to move the nation forward.

Shettima stated that himself and the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu hope to hit the ground running from day one to ensure Nigerians feel the impact of their administration.

Earlier on Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari conferred National Honours on Tinubu and Shettima.

Tinubu and Shettima were conferred with the National Honours of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) and Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON), respectively.
