The governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, paid a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
This was disclosed by the media aide to the president, Bashir Ahmad, on his verified Twitter handle.
He said, "President Muhammadu Buhari receives in audience Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Dave Umahi, today at the State House, Abuja."
The visit comes barely 24 hours after the president returned to Abuja after spending a few days in Daura, Katsina, where he voted during the presidential election.
The reason and outcome of the meeting haven't been communicated to the public at the time of this report.
Recall that Governor Umahi won his Senate election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, some Igbo socio-cultural groups have started lobbying for the governor to be the next Senate President.
They argued that the ruling party should zone the Senate President to the southeast for fairness and equity.
