On Saturday, February 25, at the crack of dawn, the results of the general presidential election for 2023 were announced, and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared the winner. He won the election with a total of 8,805,655 votes.
Everyone in the All Progressive Party in Tinubu's Abuja home was ecstatic about the announcement. They all enthusiastically applauded after the statement and hugged one another.
In Tinubu's residence during the announcement were Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Kashim Shettima, Vice President-elect, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Old, Governor of Lagos State, and others.
For Tinubu to address Nigerians as president-elect, the podium is also prepared. President Buhari was among the initial figures to congratulate Tinubu after it was revealed that he had won the poll.
All of the candidates in the general election, supporters of the opposition, and Tinubu, the victor, were thanked. On May 29, Tinubu will become the new president of the country.
