A well known Nigerian lawyer and activist, Jibrin Okutepa, SAN, has taken out his time to slam the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for refusing to obey the court order, by not allowing the Labour Party to inspect the election materials, describing Nigeria as a lawless country.
While speaking, he made it known that orders that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, should allow for inspection of electoral materials, as it was ordered by court of appeal. He went further and noted that nobody respects law in Nigeria again.
Speaking further, he described Nigeria as a lawless country, noting that it gives people joy to disrespect law in the country. He went on and stated it clearly that there is no consequence for disobedience of law in Nigeria, noting that Nigeria needs deliverance now as a nation.
In addition, Mr Okutepa made it known that disobedience of court orders is normal in Nigeria, noting that court orders are not always being obeyed in Nigeria. He went further and recalled that in the year 2018, the supreme court made orders that Hon Friday Sani Makama be paid all his salary and allowances following his unlawful suspension from Kogi State House of Assembly, but the order was disobeyed.
It should be recalled that tte Labour Party recently accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of denying them access to inspect the electoral materials, as it was ordered by the presidential election tribunal. Be it as it may, Nigerians are waiting to see how it will all end.
